When we stayed at the Cook's in
Townsville over Christmas,
Alexander camped in their back yard.
A few people have said they’re not keen to stay in dormitory style accommodation. Unfortunately, camping is not an alternative option at Mungalli Falls Student Village and Wilderness Retreat.The Milla Milla Community Page has links to three other accommodation places fairly close to Mungalli Falls:

Unique Rainforest Cottage
We've never stayed at these places (because we are die hard Mungalli fans) so we are unable to offer any opinion on them.
