Yes, we are finally getting married and we would love to celebrate our day with you.
Well…not really a day, more like three days: the Buck's and Hen's stand off on Friday (see the Buck's and Hen’s invitations for that), our rainforest wedding on Saturday followed by a sleep over at Mungalli Falls Wilderness Retreat where we’ll all see each other again for breakfast on Sunday morning.
The wedding is a family affair so never mind getting Babysitters for the kids (we’ve already got that covered).
Get on with it will you, when’s the bloody wedding: Saturday March 31st, 2007
And where the bloody hell is Mungalli Falls? Ahh, we knew you’d ask so that’s
why we’ve done electronic invitations. Click on this link, Mungalli Falls Student Village and Wilderness Retreat, and it will take you to the Mungalli Falls site. We plan on getting married at the bottom of the waterfall, surrounded by the things we love: rainforest (and frogs, hehe, sorry Paul) and you. If it’s raining, our contingency is to get married on the undercover viewing platform at the top of the falls.
Well hell, Mungalli’s so far away from Cairns (near Milla Milla, at the top of the Palmerston Range, for goodness sake) how do we get home after the reception? Stop your whining. Mungalli Falls Student Village is set up to cater for people who want to stay overnight. There’s two accommodation options: cabins that sleep four and dormitory style accommodation that sleeps 20. Unless you are buying us a block of land as a wedding present you don’t get no cabin. They’re all reserved for Paul’s and Megan’s families.
The dorms will be separated into three options: one for males, one for females, and one for families who want to stay together. No bedding is required, it’s all there. You will though, need to let Megan know if you want to stay overnight because she’s the one allocating bodies to dorms. You don’t have to pay for your accommodation and breakfast until you arrive at Mungalli Falls for the wedding, but we definitely need numbers by March 15th.
Oh you pair of misers, make us pay for our accommodation and breakfast, what about the wedding feast? Leave off, we’re not that bad! Lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are on us. Oh, I forgot alcohol, that’s also on us but because we’re celebrating at a high altitude, you won’t need much to get pickled – why do you think we’re getting married in the mountains!
What’s the plan for the day of the wedding?
- Please arrive at Mungalli to book into your accommodation by 11.30 am.
- Picnic fare lunch at 1.00 pm. We want our guests to relax, mingle, laugh, have a good time.
- Wedding ceremony at 2.30 pm. No crying allowed – you hear me Paul.
- Wine and Mungalli cheese afternoon tea at 3.30pm. Mungalli Wedding Cheesecake too!
- 6.30 pm BBQ tea.
Only our guests have access to it. You're a guest if you received an email link from Megan. We’ve raised this blog to keep you informed of all that is happening and so that Paul and Megan can share their personal messages to you all. Check from time to time to find out what’s happening and to get updates on the Buck's and Hen’s parties.
We really hope you can join us on our most special day, our wedding on March 31st. Please let us know (by leaving a comment below) no later than March 15th.
